Hotspot in Paris: pizza close to the Eiffel tower

Eating good food in a good environment, who doesn’t want that? Last week a friend of mine too me to an Italian restaurant in Paris, close to Trocadéro. Today I am giving you all the ins and outs of this awesome pizza hotspot, close to the Eiffel tower.

When you are in Paris for you few days, you obviously want to see as much as possible ánd eat good food. Most touristy area’s in the city are surrounded by tourist traps. Restaurants that sell way to expensive dishes, that usually don’t even taste good or are just really shitty. (Like this restaurant that I recently wrote about). Luckily there are a few exceptions and today I am sharing one of those with you. A restaurant in a touristy neighborhood in Paris, that serves good food and isn’t extremely expensive.

Location

Restaurant Mokus is situated on Avenue Kléber. When you take the metro to the restaurant, you will need to take line 6 to metro station Trocadéro and exit at the same exit as you will need to use to go to the Eiffel Tower. Once you are outside, you will take a right and cross the street instead of heading left to Trocadéro. The restaurant is on a busy road and catches your attention by it’s terrace with colorful chairs. We came to eat here on a Tuesday afternoon in February, around lunch time and the whole terrace was full. We chose to sit inside and I totally fell in love with the style of the restaurant. Everything is quite modern/industrial and I think it looks really pretty. The restaurant is quite big but it doesn’t feel like a feeding shed (a Dutch expression haha). I do have to admit that the acoustics are quite bad, which made it complicated to understand the person that I was with. I must have asked her at least ten times: ”What did you just say?”

The menu

We came to the restaurant to eat pizza, so my attention went straight to that part of the menu. But it was also possible to order other dishes like pasta, pokebowls and different starters.
You can choose from 19 different pizza’s, so there is something for everybody. I liked the fact that you can choose between pizza’s with tomato sauce or white pizza’s without tomato sauce.
I chose a pizza with mozzarella, cream, goatcheese, honey, tomato and arugula. I didn’t really have expectations, but was definitely positively surprised. The pizza was full of flavor and the dough quite crispy. I really enjoy eating pizza and have to admit that it made my pizza heart beat faster haha.

Rating

All things considered: I am quite excited about pizza restaurant Mokus. The location is perfect for all the people that want to see the Eiffel Tower (yes, we also went down there to take some pictures) and the prices are good compared to the quality of the food. I paid €15 for my pizza and think that is quite a reasonable price for a pizza in Paris. Especially since the pizza tasted really good and when that’s the case I am definitely willing to pay this amount of money for a good meal. I ate quite some pizza’s in my life and in Paris and I have to say this restaurant definitely comes in the list of best pizza’s in Paris. On a scale from 1 till 10, Mokus gets a 8.

After eating, you can walk ‘around the block’ and enjoy this view
